Cynthia Darwin’s writing style weaves together stories with apparently no connection to create novels. Join the fictional character Darla, an aspiring roller derby teenager, as she skates through parks everywhere and touches many lives with her fanciful life story. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of Cynthia’s next novel, Heartbeat of a Horse, as stories and paragraphs are added here for your reaction. And while fiction is her passion, she will revive a professional book she wrote in the 1980’s, Money Power and the Sexes, to help workers explore the relationships between the sexes at work in this more modern environment.
Say you are just sitting on a park bench, minding your own business, and someone sits down next to you.
And offers to tell you a story. And say that story has something to do with skating. Would you listen? Of course you would. Darla the Roller Derby Queen Trilogy combines three short tales, weaving Darla’s story together over the years. A famous, then infamous roller derby star, Darla takes her story to the parks, changing everyone’s life who hears her. Described as either a nut case or the next Messiah, you may never know.
Cynthia Darwin’s upcoming book,”Heartbeat of a Horse”, will strike a chord with any little girl or her father who have heard the words, “Daddy, can we get a horse?” Certainly Cynthia’s father heard it more than once. In 2022, over 60 years later, he said yes. That year Cynthia and her father, Dick Elam, both were awarded short story contest winners and decided to write a book together of short stories about horses. Cynthia’s professional guide explores the powerful relationship at work between the two sexes and provides a guide to turning that energy into powerful business tools.
Written in the 1980’s when she was a part of the changing roles of genders in the workplace, Cynthia published the guide as a manual for her presentations and workshops on the subject. The book and accompanying workshop material will address issues and changes in the workplace since that time, but the basics remain. To request more information, use Contact button
