About and Reviews

Cynthia lives outside the Houston area with her husband, Roger, a few cats, rabbits and, of course. her horses. A native Texan, she comes from a family headed by journalist parents and has utilized the writing skills learned from them in her professional career spanning newscasting, corporate management and real estate. Her passion as she approaches retirement age is crafting books and adventures by intertwining myriad stories.

Cynthia draws on professional and personal experiences as a journalist, athlete, company executive, mother and horse lover to introduce you to Darla the Roller Derby Queen, to a meteorologist named Marilyn, and to take you to a grove of trees that holds family secrets.

A book of short stories that she began with her father, the late Dick Elam, will be released in 2025, entitled Heartbeat of a Horse.   Cynthia also used her experience as a former radio newscaster to provide the heroine’s voice in the Audible version of Elam’s book, Anne Bonny’s Wake, and will be providing audio versions of her blogs and short stories to subscribers. Visit her on social media links below to hear more about that upcoming book, to access her writings and to come along on the Storyteller’s ride.
